O N C O !
๐ถ ๐ป ๐ถ July 7th 2024. Sunday. Had the honor of being invited (booked) to play a three hour afternoon gig at ONCO Fermentations. ONCO is a wonderful brewery run by Erin and Brian who are wonderful people and, it's four miles from our house!
The crowd was filled with familiar faces and supportive friends. An appearance from the Barrys was a welcome surprise as Connie and I were just saying how long it's been since we have seen them out and about. Thanks to Mike and Alice, (aunt)Leslie and (uncle) Paul, Larry and Jules, The Rzepka's: Den, Lou and John, Mike Thomas, and of course Connie and Brenda heading up the 'band table' for choosing to spend their Sunday afternoon together with us and for supporting my music as they very often do. The ONCO regulars were also there in support. Ed and Kathy ... Tony and Patty to name a few.
The set was Americana with some deep tracks from many of the genre-defining artists and a couple of Tommy originals. "Nothin' But The Wheel" brought out some talking points/questions from the crowd which, when asked, gave me the opportunity to mention Peter Wolf (of the J. Geils Band) and feature a couple of his songs. Both song of his that I did are on the album 'Sleepless'. Rodney Crowell and Slaid Cleaves were also featured with a few songs from each.
An 'Easy Breezy Sunday' for sure on an absolutely picture perfect weather day. Overall a wonderful afternoon of camaraderie for which I had the privilege of providing the soundtrack. A three hour plus set played straight through with no break. My only regret on the day was that the set couldn't have been longer :-)
